Frequently Asked Questions
Q: At what age should I cast my baby's hands and feet?
A:It is best to capture them as tiny as possible, around 5 days to 10 months.
Q: Why can't I find any information about taking 3D casting for babies/toddler aged 10 months and above ?
A: Babies and toddlers aged between 10 to 24 months are going through a lot of changes within them during this period. And for some babies, they are just starting to recognize strangers(and don't like to be near them) at this point. From experiences, the process can be very challenging as many would fuss and can't stay still - this causes both parents and babies/child some unnecessary stress. Please contact me to discuss if you feel that your baby could be up for it.
Q: How long does the appointment take?
A: Depending on the service you have chosen, on average an appointment will take 30 - 60 minutes.
Q:How should I prepare for 3D casting for myself and my baby?
A: The baby should wear a short sleeve onesie that you won’t mind getting dirty.. It's also wise that you don't wear your best clothes. Please trim the nails. Baby can be awake or asleep during the casting. You might want to make sure he/she has napped and been fed before you arrive for the appointment – a happy baby will make the process a lot easier.
Q: What if my baby moves a lot during the process?
A: During the process it is ok that babies move a little. I find that it helps a lot if you bring another support person along (spouse, grandparents) to help with distraction. However it's ok too to come with the baby by yourself - i'll help you as much as possible.
Q: Do you do 2D and 3D castings for pets?
A: Yes I do. This is suitable for pets with short fur and are relatively calm ( they need to be able to stay still for just over 1 minute for 3D, I normally distract them with treats). Please contact me for details.
Q: Why will my order take 4-6 weeks to complete?
A: Cast/impression requires a long drying time to fully dry out before it can be painted and mounted. This is incredibly important otherwise moisture will be trapped inside the cast, causing decay in time.
Q: Can I purchase gift cards?
A: Yes. gift card from Minnestudio is fantastic gift for babyshower, friends, new parents or grandparents. Please inform me the amount you want (for example, Kr 500 ) or a particular product (for example, 2 feet with photo in frame) and I'll send you the giftcard by mail or you can pick it up from my studio.
Q: How do I pay?
A: Vipps. Full payment to be collected during the appointment in order to continue the process.
